World music collection 13: Ohno Aika

Since 1990 or so, japanese popular music scene has been filled with singer song writers, and the space for composers and lyricist became scarce. Under such situation Ohno Aika survived as a music composer for a long time. Her published all works are listed at the following site:

大野愛果は今では数少ない作曲家として、上のリンクのように多くの歌手に作品を提供していますが、最大の業績は倉木麻衣を世に出したことでしょう。ザードへの提供曲も心に残るものでした。

Ohno Aika demonstrates her natural gift as a composer and a melody maker. Undoubtedly she is genius. Kuraki Mai became famous as a star singer by the support of Ohno Aika. Aika provided many famous songs also to ZARD and other singers. Her works are sensitive and moving.

In my personal opinion, Aika is not a goog vocalist, because her pronuciation is unclear.
